Collaborative presentation

Once in the semester, you will give a collaborative presentation  based on the week’s readings. Your presentation is not expected to summarize the reading material – we will go over readings in the first half of class. Instead, take the week’s readings as a starting point. Select particular moments that were of interest to your group and dig further into what they mean. How do they connect to your interests and experiences inside and outside the classroom? To your major? To the media you most enjoy? How can you involve the class in your ideas?

Your presentation should be as interactive as you can make it – we’re in a collaborative classroom with a lot of resources, so think about how you can use them! Incorporate materials such as images, videos, websites, handouts, activities for the class to use, craft materials, play-doh… If you are stuck for ideas, come talk to me in office hours.

It’s okay to focus on one reading or set of readings in particular, but if you plan to do this, you need to let me know by Monday because I will have to make sure I prepare to fully cover the other readings in my half of class.

To do a good job on this presentation, you will have to do the reading early and meet with your partner(s) ahead of time. Presenters should also meet with me earlier in the week to make sure they understand the readings that are assigned for their day.
